SplatA small diner in Tokyo's downtown area. The owner, Katsunori, scolds his wife, Shino, and leaves the restaurant. The next day, Shino receives a call from her old lover, Otomo. Shino's heart flutters. Later, Katsunori shows up at the restaurant with a man from a real estate agency, but Shino yells at him, causing the man to leave. That night, Otomo visits the restaurant. The two go straight to a hotel. Shino is embraced by Otomo and gives herself over to pleasure.

Stayed so true to the source material but still had its own must-see moments. A beautiful revival.
Overlong and bogged down in dark photography and art direction, this live action remake doesn’t come close to the magic that was the animated original.
My daughter and I absolutely loved this movie! The actors they selected were spot on compared to their animated version! A must see!!!!! Bravo!!!
im not a big fan of live action remakes, but this was solid!
